Professor Yang Shu-mei

Ms. Yang learned from Prof. Zhou Li-li before entering college. She graduated from Department of Music of Soochow University, majoring in piano under the guidance of Prof. Lin Rong-de and Wang Qing-yun. She obtained a Ph. D. in piano playing from University of North Texas under the guidance of Dr. Roberts, Dr. Harlos and Mr. Rogers. She held recitals while in Texas and was granted multiple scholarships. She also worked as a piano teaching assistant. After returning home, she held concerts and published a number of academic research articles with grants from National Science Council (NSC).

 

Yang won an NSC scholarship in 2004 for short-term visits to the U.S. on technology purposes. In 2010, she served as an evaluation committee member in National Zhongzheng Cultural Center for piano music.

 

Professor Yang has held eight different-themed double piano recitals with Professor Liu Qiong-shu since 1995. Yang is currently a full-time professor at Department of Music of National Taipei University of Education.
